Catholic Ambient (“we,” “us”) operates catholicambient.com. This policy describes what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Information you provide

• Newsletter. If you subscribe, we collect your email address and, if you choose to provide it, your first name. Signups are processed through Kit (ConvertKit).
• Contact form. If you write to us through the contact page, we receive your name, email address, message, and phone number if you include one. Submissions are handled by Netlify Forms and delivered to us by email.

Information stored in your browser

We use a small amount of browser storage to improve how the site works for you:

• Theme preference (light or dark), stored in local storage.
• Music player settings such as the current track and playback position, stored in local storage.
• Your time zone, stored in a cookie so the Rosary “today” page matches your calendar day.

We do not use these for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Music and embedded content

The site embeds videos from YouTube (via youtube-nocookie.com) when you use the music player. YouTube may collect information according to its own policies when playback starts. We do not control that collection.

Server and security data

Our host, Netlify, may process standard server logs (such as IP address and request details). We use IP-based rate limiting on newsletter signups to prevent abuse. We do not run third-party analytics on this site.

How we use information

We use the information above to:

• Send the newsletter you requested.
• Respond to messages you send us.
• Operate site features such as the music player and Rosary tools.
• Protect the site from spam and abuse.

We do not sell your personal information.

Third-party services

We rely on a few service providers to run the site:

• Kit — newsletter delivery and list management.
• Netlify — hosting, forms, and server functions.
• YouTube / Google — embedded music playback.

Each provider handles data under its own privacy terms.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email we send through Kit.
• Clear site data in your browser settings to remove local storage and cookies we set.
• Email us at hello@catholicambient.com with privacy questions or requests.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
