Our Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 6:9–13) · c. 30
“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name…”

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.
The Lord’s Prayer is the prayer Christ Himself taught His disciples. In the Rosary it opens the sequence after the Creed and begins each decade — anchoring Marian meditation in the words Jesus gave the Church.
Trust & surrender. Jesus entrusted this prayer to His Church; praying it is an act of filial confidence in the Father.
Peace & charity. The Our Father gathers our needs into God’s kingdom and His will, ordering the heart toward peace.
