Morning Offering

Traditional (popularized by Apostleship of Prayer) · c. 1844

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day.

Read slowly

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
I offer You my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day
for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart,
in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Holy Mass throughout the world,
in reparation for my sins,
for the intentions of all my relatives and friends,
and in particular for the intentions of the Holy Father.

Amen.

About this prayer

The Morning Offering is a common devotional practice that begins the day by placing one’s life under God’s will. It reflects the Catholic spirituality of daily consecration—offering the day’s work and sacrifices to God so the whole day becomes prayerful.

When to pray
At the beginning of your day, ideally before you become fully absorbed in tasks.
After you read
After offering the day, make one quiet resolution for that day’s hardest obligation to be done in God’s presence.
