Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known
that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help, or sought thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother;
to thee I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in thy mercy hear and answer me.
Amen.
A classic prayer of confident trust in Mary's intercession. She always leads us to her Son — Christ remains the goal.
Marian. The Memorare is addressed to Mary and draws on Catholic teaching about her intercessory role and compassionate mediation as Queen of mercy.
Trust & surrender. It explicitly argues from confidence that Mary helps those who turn to her, asking for her protection when the faithful feel abandoned.
